Accountability: This Code of Conduct is binding to every member regardless of rank or
station. Since the NCOs are traditionally tasked with ensuring the good order of the
company, the First Sergeant is responsible for the enforcement of this Code of Conduct.
If the First Sergeant is unavailable or indisposed, that responsibility then rests with the
next most senior NCO in the chain of command.

While the First Sergeant may use Sergeants and Corporals as assistants, he is the one
who bears the weight of making sure that all of the men adhere to the following
standards.

Uniforms:

1)        Uniforms and equipment, including eyeglasses and footwear, must be authentic.
All new members must purchase a grey jean cloth uniform while those serving prior to
this policy coming into force will replace their old uniforms with grey jean cloth when
replacing their old uniforms.
2)        Members are required to change into the complete uniform upon completion of
setting up their camp and will remain in complete uniform until the event is over.
Modern day clothes will not be worn in camp.
3)        The members of the 10th LA Co C will properly wear the uniform at all times:
a.        Hats (slouch or kepi) will be properly worn at all times.
b.        Shirts will be buttoned at the wrist unless assigned to fatigue details.
c.        Trousers will be unbloused at all times.
d.        T-shirts may be worn under the shirt provided they are not visible to others.
e.        No modern jewellery except wedding bands will be worn.
f.        Only period footwear will be allowed. No running shoes, flip-flops etc. will be
worn in camp during an event.

Camps: “It is everyone’s duty to have a proper camp”:

1)        Camps will remain clean at all times. Do not leave trash, wrappers, plastic
bottles, aluminum cans, etc. on the ground. These items are to be picked up and placed
in garbage bags in your tent or company garbage bags situated on the street.
2)        At no time will modern containers and articles be visible in the camp.
3)        All modern items will be stored in your tent.
4)        Fire pits will be kept clean at all times.
5)        Children are not permitted to play in the fire pits.
6)        Firewood will be neatly stacked near the fire pit and water buckets will be full of
water and nearby to prevent any out of control fires.
7)        The first sergeant or his appointed NCO will maintain a fair and equal duty
fatigue roster.
8)        Officers and NCOs are expected to camp with the men on the company street.
9)        If, for safety reasons it becomes necessary to post guards in the camp all officers,
NCOs and privates will take part in the guard detail.
10)         Cars are to be removed from the camp area as soon as possible.
11)         The 10th LA Co C re-enactment is a professional organization.
Consequently, we will not abide racist, vulgar or belligerent behaviour in the camp at
any time. Be especially mindful of our language when visitors are in camp.
